Privacy Statement

The information you provide to us, the GOC (as data controller), will be processed and used in line  with our statutory purpose under the Opticians Act 1989 as a public task in order to set standards for optical education and training, performance and conduct. Right to Erasure

Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulations provides data subjects with the right to erasure, this is also known as the right to be forgotten. Right to erasure requests should be sent to the Data Protection Officer (FOI@optical.org) and will be responded to within one calendar month of receipt.

Data Controller

We are registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office, Registration Number Z5718812. We are committed to maintaining robust Information Governance policies and processes to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Any information you supply will be stored and processed by us or on our behalf, by approved and verified third parties, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations and Data Protection Act 2018.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Monitoring will involve the use of statistical information in which the identities of individuals will not appear. The information collected on the monitoring form will be treated as confidential and held securely in line with data protection requirements. Delib Privacy Information

Delib's software (this website) enables organisations to set up and operate activities, through which they can engage with you.

This site is managed by the controlling organisation, General Optical Council. When you access and use this site, the personal information you have submitted to these activities will go to the organisation. Delib will not access your personal information unless requested to do so by the organisation, and only for the purposes of assisting them with the administration of this site.

If you have any questions or requests about your personal information, for example to request a copy of it, or to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong, please contact the organisation (as stated in their Privacy Notice / Privacy Statement / Privacy Policy). The information provided by your computer when you use this website is collected by Delib. For example, your browser type, IP address, language preference, referring site and the date and time. The purpose for collecting this information is to maintain the security of the website and for operating and improving the software.
